PLUMAS BANK OFFERS HOLIDAY JOY

Plumas Bank is celebrating its 34th anniversary and the holidays by hosting a holiday mixer Thursday, Dec. 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Susanville office, and a community supper in Chester at the Chester Veterans Memorial Hall on Thursday, Dec. 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. If your social calendar is already booked you can enjoy refreshments when you do your everyday banking at the Portola office Wednesday, Dec. 10, and Monday – Wednesday, Dec. 15 – 17, at the Quincy and Greenville offices during their annual Customer Appreciation Days. While you are at one of the branches don’t forget to pick up the 2015 photo calendar — the theme this year is Celebrating 35 Years of Community Banking in Plumas Bank Country.

ANNUAL CHESTER MERCHANTS’ EVENT

The annual Chester Merchant’s Night Holiday Open House is set for Friday, Nov. 28. From 5 to 9 p.m., participating merchants will be offering some tasty treats for you to enjoy while browsing their stores and checking out their terrific deals. Santa will make his appearance at Lassen Gift Co. from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Those joining the “flash mob parade” should assemble with their lighted cars or trucks in front of Builders Supply at 6 p.m.

WOMEN’S HEALTH CARE SPECIALIST

Popular nurse practitioner Janet Thompson, who specializes in women’s health care, has returned to North Fork Family Medicine and is once again seeing patients on Wednesdays. Before taking a leave, the Graeagle resident worked for the Plumas District Hospital’s clinic for seven years.

HONORING OUR VETS ON THEIR DAY

As a special tribute to the men and women who serve our country, Twenty Mile Garage owner Ken Anthony will provide free oil changes to veterans Tuesday, Nov. 11, between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. He reports the service will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. His automotive repair shop is on Watson Road in Chester.

And for the sixth year in a row, Gina Gosney, of Gosney’s Barber Shop on Main Street in Chester, is offering free haircuts to veterans Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. She will also be serving complimentary doughnuts and coffee.
