As the Responsible Official, Acting District Ranger, Thobe Oestreich, signed a Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) on December 21, 2009 approving the Gold Lake and Goose Lake Campgrounds Public Toilets. The selected alternative is Alternative 2, the proposed action, of the Gold Lake and Goose Lake Campgrounds Public Toilets #2 Environmental Assessment (EA). This alternative would allow for the installation of a permanent vault toilet at the Gold Lake and Goose Lake Campgrounds. The Gold Lake location is in T.21N. R.12 E., Section 17.  The Goose Lake location is in T.21N., R.12E., Section 21. Both are in the Lakes Basin Management Area 35.
The EA and Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) may be reviewed at the Beckwourth Ranger District, 23 Mohawk Road, Blairsden, California.
Decision Not Subject to Appeal
The 30-day comment period for this project ended on December 18, 2009. Since no comments expressing concerns or otherwise interest were received, or only supportive comments were received during the comment period, this decision is not subject to appeal (36 CFR 215.12). Implementation may begin immediately.
