Many sets of whiskers are appearing around the county in preparation for the Greenville Firemen's annual Gold Diggers there this weekend. An air show will be held on Sunday at the new Indian Valley airport near Taylorsville as an added feature of the program this year.

The three high schools of Plumas County will close next week for the summer recess.
A Western Pacific Railroad passenger train was held up in Sloat Friday night by a fire there. A hose was stretched across the railroad tracks to combat the fire which destroyed a small house.

A large contingent of the Storrie population turned out Tuesday to greet a Plumas County Chamber of Commerce caravan which traveled the new section of the Feather River Highway connecting the highway with Storrie and Rock Creek.
