Longtime crafter Carol Hodges has opened Carol’s Quilts and Crafts in Chester at the corner of Pine and Irwin Way. She said this is the perfect place to showcase her assorted handcrafted jewelry and quilted items like wall hangings, quilts, pillows, embroidered pillowcases and embellished hats. grand opening festivities
On June 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Suzanne Hamar is having a grand opening for her Greenville business, General Store. Festivities include wooden bear carving demonstrations, yarn spinning, a community swap meet and barbecue. Her store carries something for everyone — hence the name — from antiques, arts and crafts and vintage kitchen ware to brand name work clothes, shoes, sewing supplies and just a lot more.
chiropractor’s insurance notice
Effective June 7, Dr. Bruce Walker has terminated his contract with Blue Shield. On July 16 he will no longer handle Anthem Blue Cross, including State Compensation Insurance Fund, Cigna and all ASHP plans. He has sent a notice to the patients of his Quincy practice with more details. Although they are no longer a participating provider, they will send in claims but payment will have to be made at the time of service.

Julie Rohr, formerly of Main Street Coffee Bar, is now making her specialty coffee drinks, smoothies and fresh baked pastries at Caboost, at the Burger Depot on Main Street in Chester. She’s serving Thursday through Monday, 6 – 11 a.m.
