Scott and Delores Satterlee at Mill Creek Fish and Chips are celebrating eight years in business with a very special customer appreciation day Sunday, Oct. 28, from noon to 4 p.m. In addition to live music from "dirty boots," there will be free hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks. It is there way of saying thanks to everyone who enjoys the wide array of delicious food served at this East Quincy eatery. After 17 years with Bequette and Kimmel Accounting Corporation in Quincy, certified public accountant Roberta Allen is leaving to become the Plumas County auditor effective Nov. 1. “We are both excited for her new career change and sad as she will be missed by us and her clients,” said John Kimmel. He added that the clients she served can rest assured they will be served by his firm in the same quality way.
fitness center’s open house
Feather River Fitness is having an open house so folks can meet the facility’s new manager, Tayl’r Hollis, and tour the facility. It’s Monday, Oct. 8, from 7 to 11 a.m. Everyone who attends will receive a free five-day pass to the fitness center; existing members can pass them along to friends and family.
The fitness center also has new fall hours: Monday – Friday, 5 a.m. – 8 p.m., and 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
girls night out this friday
This year’s theme for Girls Night Out on Friday, Sept. 28 is the “Roaring 20s.” This is the Downtown Quincy Merchants only fundraiser and all the money raised from selling boas this year — which are available at most of the stores — will be used to continue beautifying the downtown area. This extremely popular annual event begins at 4 p.m. at Shear Pleasure in East Quincy with the next stop at Papa’s Donuts before continuing over the hill where you can enjoy the rest of the evening’s festivities. Costume contest entries are made at Shear Pleasure and Bargain Boutique. Winner gets a huge gift basket full of merchandise valued at over $500.
