Opportunity to Comment on the Wolf Creek Fuels Reduction and Hazard Tree Removal Project. The Plumas National Forest proposes to allow green fuel wood collection 100 feet from road prism, salvage of 2 large wind throw trees and commercial hazard tree removal along approximately 2 miles of National Forest System (NFS) road 27N80 near Canyon Dam, CA. The project area is approximately 70 acres. These activities are allowed under Forest Service Interim Directive, FSH 1909.15, Chapter 30, Categorical Exclusion from Documentation, 32.2, Category 12, "Harvest of live trees not to exceed 70 acres, requiring no more than 1/2 mile of temporary road construction" (36 CFR 220.6(e)(12)) and Category 13 "Salvage of dead and/or dying trees not to exceed 250 acres, requiring no more than 1/2 mile of temporary road construction" (36 CFR 220.6(e)(13)). The project is located approximately 3-5 miles southeast of Canyon Dam along NFS road 27N80, T27N, R8E, Section 26; T27N, R9E, Section 31; and T26N, R9E, Section 6, MDBM.
