Richard Thomas Bowman, 47, passed from this life unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at his residence outside of Taylorsville.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany. Sept. 9, 1963, to Jerry and Irene (Riesing) Bowman, a career military family, Richard was raised in Nebraska until age 10 when the family moved to Marysville and later Wheatland. Richard is a 1981 graduate of Wheatland High School.

He had a number of jobs during and following high school before going to work for Yuba County's road department.

In 1998, he left to go to work for Colusa County and health complications forced him to take an early retirement in 2006.

His love of the outdoors brought him to Indian Valley in 2008 where he settled in Taylorsville.

An avid sportsman who especially enjoyed hunting, Richard also enjoyed working in his garden.

In passing, Richard leaves his daughter, Rochelle Carter and her husband Joseph of Yuba City; son Derrick Bowman of Marysville; brother Gregory and sister Marlene Bowman of Marysville; grandmother, Vivian Bowman of Yuba City; along with nephews Alex and Brandon Bowman. He will be especially missed by his dear pets Luey, Gizmo and Nova.

A celebration of Richard's life will take place at noon Monday, Dec. 27, in the Sutter Cemetery in Sutter.

Quincy businesswoman and life-long resident Patricia Jacqueline Jester passed from this life peacefully Saturday evening, Dec. 18, 2010, under the compassionate care of the staff at Country Villa-Quincy, at the age of 80.

Born in Hawthorne, Nev., she moved with her family as an infant to Quincy, where she was raised and educated.

Patricia fell in love with a handsome, young service station attendant, William "Billy" Jester Sr. and the couple was united in matrimony March 12, 1950, in Reno, Nev. To this union one son and a daughter were born.

Pat, as she affectionately became known, attended the Quincy First Baptist Church. Involved in the logging industry for more than 40 years with her late husband, Pat owned and operated PP&J Logging for 20 years.

She was a staunch supporter and member of the Quincy chapter of Women in Timber.

Pat will be remembered by many for the impeccable home and garden she kept.

Her passion in life during her later years was her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she was so proud of.

In passing, Pat leaves her daughter, Teresa Bellamy and her husband Kerry of Quincy; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jester of Fremont; the jewels of her later life, her grandchildren Troy Ayotte, Shawn Jester, Kris Bellamy, Stephanie Ayotte-Hardgrave, Jennifer Bellamy-Beck, David, Michael, William, Jordan Jester and Chris Boone; great-grandchildren Andrew, William, Jenna, Samantha, Heather, Ella and Troy and her dear sister, Tish Whipple, of Quincy.

She joins her husband of 51 years, William "Billy" Jester Sr., and son, William "Billy" Jester Jr., in their eternal home.

A time of visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday, Dec. 23, with a celebration of her life to follow at 2 p.m., all at the Fehrman Mortuary Chapel-Quincy.



Dennis William Martin

Dennis William Martin, 51, died Nov. 5, 2010, in a Reno, Nev., hospital. He was born in Redwood City.

He was a longtime resident of Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Inga and Walter Martin.

He is survived by a brother and sister.

Donations may be made to a charity of choice.



Westwood resident Peggy Elaine Easterling died at Seneca District Hospital Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at the age of 56.

Peggy was born in Lakeport, Jan. 27, 1954, to the late Stanley and Marjorie (Lindsey) Cook.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Jim of Westwood; stepdaughter, Sabrina Easterling and her husband Jason of Oakland; sisters, Carol Putnam of Arkansas, Janet Filomeo of Palo Cedro, Gloria Pharr of Omaha, Neb. and Linda Cook of Fairfield and one grandchild.

She is predeceased by her stepson, Corbin.

Graveside services will be held in the Westwood Cemetery in the summer.

Greenville resident Linda Jones died late Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, at the age of 60.

Born March 9, 1950, in Carson, Nev. to Anthony and Josephine (Mendez) Hernandez, Linda moved to Greenville about 15 years ago.

Linda is survived her two daughters, Loretta and Toni; her partner, Paul; sister, Rose; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild to include Roseanne and Justin.

She is also survived by a niece, Jackie, and was expecting her second great-grandchild shortly.

She predeceased by her daughter, Shanna, in Oct. 1994.

A private family celebration will take place at Fehrman Mortuary with cremation to follow. Inurnment will take place in the Greenville District Cemetery.
