...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PST THIS
EVENING ABOVE 3000 FEET..
A WINTER STORM WARNING ABOVE 3000 FEET REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
6 PM PST THIS EVENING FOR THE WEST SLOPE SIERRA NEVADA.
* TIMING: SNOW WILL TAPER OFF TO SHOWERS FROM THE NORTH DURING
THE DAY. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL BE AROUND 3000 FEET. SHOWERS
ARE EXPECTED TO END BY EARLY THIS EVENING FOLLOWED BY
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: ACCUMULATIONS UP TO A FOOT WILL BE
POSSIBLE DOWN TO THE 4000 FOOT LEVEL WITH UP TO 2 FEET OF
ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE ALONG THE SIERRA NEVADA CREST.
* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: PORTIONS OF INTERSTATE 80. ..HIGHWAY 50 AND
HIGHWAY 88 ACROSS THE NORTHERN SIERRA NEVADA.
* WINDS: SOUTHWEST WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH OR MORE AT THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS AND OVER THE MOUNTAIN PASSES. THE STRONG WINDS HAVE
DOWNED TREES OR TREE BRANCHES IN SOME AREAS.
* IMPACTS: ADVERSE TRAVEL CONDITIONS. NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY
POSSIBLE IN BLOWING SNOW AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. SOME ROADS
ARE REPORTED CLOSED DUE TO DOWNED TREES OR TREE BRANCHES.
