Opportunity to Comment on Collins/Morgan Springs North Allotment

The Forest Service, Lassen National Forest, Almanor Ranger District, has issued a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Collins/Morgan Springs North Allotment Project. The Almanor Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest has prepared this draft EA to present the environmental consequences of three alternatives analyzed in detail, including no action. The Collins/Morgan Springs North Allotment (4,033 acres NFS) is located in Townships 29-30 North and Range 4 East, northwest of Chester in Tehama County, California. Copies of the draft EA are available for review at the Almanor Ranger District Office. This comment period is intended to provide those interested in or affected by this proposal an opportunity to make their concerns known prior to a decision being made by the Responsible Official. Those who provide comments or otherwise express interest in the proposal by the close of the comment period will be eligible to appeal the decision pursuant to 36 CFR part 215 regulations.

How to Comment and Timeframe

Written, facsimile, hand-delivered, oral, and electronic comments concerning this action will be accepted for 30 calendar days following publication of the notice in the Chester Progressive, the newspaper of record. The publication date in the newspaper of record is the exclusive means for calculating the comment period for this proposal. Those wishing to comment should not rely upon dates or timeframe information provided by any other source. The regulations prohibit extending the length of the comment period.
