The Quincy High School baseball team earned a Feather River League win last Friday, April 16, when the Trojans went on the road to defeat Big Valley 15-3.
The win snapped a six-game losing streak for the Quincy Trojans, bringing their overall record to 4-11.
Quincy scored at least two runs every inning, and the game ended after five innings due to the mercy rule.
Jesse Wallace pitched four innings and recorded the win for Quincy, giving up three hits and one earned run, while striking out nine. Justin Moritz pitched the final inning in his first outing of the year and struck out one.
On offense, Andrew Murphy and Jordan Rose each hit a home run. Rose and John Flanigan claimed three RBIs apiece, and Murphy earned two.
Rose, Murphy, Flanigan, Nolen Lewis and Jake Hatzel each delivered two hits and two runs. Cal Blanton captured one hit, two runs and a double. Hatzel also hit a double.
Sam Ruttschow, Jesse Wallace and Cody Cline earned one hit and one run apiece.
Quincy plays a doubleheader at home this Saturday, April 24, against Silver Stage. Game one begins at 1 p.m.
