GREENHORN RANCH MAKING NEWS

    The FOX television network affiliate in San Francisco recently aired a feature entitled California Kids Getaways, offering places families with kids can go besides the usual theme parks like Disneyland or SeaWorld. Our very own Greenhorn Guest Ranch near Quincy was one of those showcased on the news program. The SF-based reporter was obviously very impressed with everything the ranch has to offer, from the food to the cabins to the scenery that abounds and surrounds the guest ranch. GRAND OPENING WINNERS
    The recent grand opening event at The Blue Goose Fine Art Gallery in Chester was a huge success. Owner Debbie Groesser said they had more than 200 guests who enjoyed the food, free gifts and art gallery. Debbie Ferreira of Sonoma won the grand prize, a $150 gift certificate at the gallery. A host of others won prizes that included several limited edition prints and gift certificates from The Cutting Edge and Good Vibrations.

ANNIVERSARY GREETINGS…
     Sharon Paine is celebrating 17 years with Mt. Maid Quilters on Main Street in Chester. In addition to an array of fabrics and accessories, they regularly offer beginner and advanced quilting classes.

CLOSED FOR WINTER
    Blackhawk Nursery, located just west of Quincy, has closed for the winter. Owners Warren and Nancy Coulter look forward to re-opening the nursery next spring.

WE’RE STILL LIGHTING CANDLES…
    Doug Miller is celebrating 11 years with Chester Video, the convenient video rental store that also offers copying and fax services. Doug also has ice cream and popcorn for purchase to complete a movie night at home.

    x Mary Cheek, CPA, is in her fourth anniversary of owning her own business.  Year-in and year-out she has professionally served the accounting needs for folks in the greater Lake Almanor basin.

    x Six years ago Sierra Coffee & Beverage owners Victor and Linda Hursh and Michael Shannon started what has become a thriving business serving customers throughout Plumas and Lassen Counties.

    x Seems these days we can’t say enough about Lake Almanor Fitness Center and the good job General Manager Garn Pringle has done growing the club’s membership and various program offerings in just two short years. For many folks, the Chester fitness facility has truly become a vital part of the Lake Almanor Basin.
