FRC Soccer keeps busy

The California Community College Soccer Coaches Association just released the All-Scholar team and of the 21 players named, four are from Feather River College.

FRC’s Daniel Martinez of Tampico, Mexico, has carried a 3.39 grade point average (GPA) to date through his sophomore year and is moving on to study engineering and play at St. Ambrose University in Iowa.

Joe O’Neill, from Lichfield, England, has carried a 3.42 GPAand is moving on to play and study at Erskine College in South Carolina.

Seon Ripley of Wakefield, UK, has carried a 3.7 GPA through three semesters and has signed to play for Seaton Hill University in Pennsylvania.

Last but not least, Oliver Hitch, from Epsom, UK, has carried a team high 3.71 GPA to date and will be moving on to Florida International University in the fall.

FRC’s soccer team has kept busy this spring with multiple scrimmages. The Golden Eagles took on a huge challenge this spring against Humboldt State University who plays in arguably the strongest NCAA D-II conference in the nation, the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). While Humboldt struck first in the 20th minute, the Golden Eagles struck back twice with a goal apiece from Australians Andrew Maynard and Brent Pedlow.
