These are the stories we are working on for this week's newspaper:
  • Quick fix: A plumbing problem is forcing the Plumas Unified School District to move its headquarters to the former probation building.
  • Lesser charges: A former Chester Public Utility District general manager pleaded guilty to reduced charges last month in connection with unauthorized use of a district credit card at a Reno strip club.

Accounts set up to receive donations for fire victims

Feather Publishing

The Quincy Chamber of Commerce has set up two accounts at Plumas Bank to accept donations for victims of the downtown fire on Sunday morning. One account is for Quincy Thrift, and the other is for Pizza Factory.

Those who would like to make a monetary donation to either of these businesses may go to Plumas Bank and use the deposit slips available at the counter. To receive a receipt, leave your name, mailing address and donation amount.

“Thank you to all who have helped and are helping these and the other businesses that have suffered from this terrible event,” said chamber representatives. “May the spirit of the season fill you with all the love and care that you have shown to those in need.”
