Feather River College Youth Entrepreneurship Program joined the nation in celebrating the remarkable and everyday successes of entrepreneurs and innovators, both locally and nationally, by hosting author and entrepreneur E.J. Carrion for students at Loyalton Middle/High School and Feather River College on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Carrion is the author of Amazon best-seller “Accelerate Your Success: How to Create a Future and Stand Out When College is Not Enough,” which teaches students how to market and brand themselves when everyone is going to college and no one is hiring.

After writing his first book, “Ignite Your Dreams,” while in college at the University of Oklahoma, Carrion became the co-publisher of the internationally recognized brand “Collegiate Performance Magazine,” which featured NFL athletes including quarterback Tim Tebow and BMX Gold Medalist Dave Mirra.

Carrion has spoken to tens of thousands of students in more than 20 states, all before his 23rd birthday. His main entrepreneurial venture is the Student Success Academy, a modern coaching solution that helps high school students leverage their education and build a personalized plan to defeat current issues in the economy and in their own life.

More than 250 FRC students and 150 Loyalton students attended the hour-long workshops.

Janet McHenry, academic advisor from Loyalton High, had this to say about the program:

“There was a lot of follow-up discussion in the classroom. I always make my students create goals on a quarterly basis, but this was a perfect addition for us this first week of the new quarter.”
