Search continues for missing Meadow Valley man

  The Plumas County Sheriff is actively searching for a 71-year-old Meadow Valley man who was reported missing on May 1.

  Clifford Wade was last seen around noon on that Wednesday.

  According to his wife, Nancy, Wade was driving a light yellow 1969 Mercury Cougar. She said her husband, who is diabetic, left without his medication.

  Nancy Wade said her husband’s cellphone appeared to be turned off. She said he didn’t take any extra clothing.

  “I have absolutely no idea what has happened,” Nancy Wade said. “He has never done anything like this before.”

  Nancy Wade said Clifford was home when she left the house at 11:30 a.m. She said he was gone when she returned at 1:30 p.m.

  He was reported missing on May 2. The sheriff’s office said it immediately launched a search and rescue operation that extended to Butte County.
