Four adjoining downtown Quincy businesses were broken into Saturday night. Jewelry amounting to $15,000 was stolen from the Gem Shop and merchandise from Quincy Drug Store worth $800 was stolen. The drug store soda fountain and the Townhall Theater were also broken into with no losses reported.

Mary Ann Frates of Belden, the Feather Publishing newspaper columnist of “Canyon Chatter”, has retired after writing her column for Feather Publishing for more than 30 years. Her weekly column focused on the events and residents of the Feather River canyon.
