3.000 north valley customers without power as more storms head our way

Snow storms on Christmas and today caused fresh power outages in Shasta and Plumas counties, where PG&E crews continue to work 16-hour days to repair broken poles and downed wires from fallen trees, PG&E said today.

About 3,000 customers in the North Valley are without power. The most impacted areas are 800 customers in the Shasta County communities of Lakehead, Round Mountain and Montgomery Creek.  In Plumas County, about 2,000 customers are without power, mainly in La Porte, Lake Almanor, Canyon Dam, and Bucks Lake, as well as some customers in the Lassen County community of Westwood.

PG&E expects most customers currently without power to be restored today. Crews are working at dozens of damage locations, often using snow cats to reach sites in remote forests.

Customers who experience a power outage are encouraged to call PG&E at 800-743-5002 to report their outage and to also get updates on restoration status. Customers can also choose to get a call back when more information is available, or request a wake up call.

Good ole PG&E- customers are out of power for 24 hours a day but they work 16. I guess they have never heard of roating crews.

Bob, Pacific Power has. Their crews are dedicated to providing excellent service to the customers. Too bad we can't have them down here in Plumas County.

Take a look at their web site...

Someone needs to check the NWS forecast! It looks like the weather is entering into more of a drying period. No big storms are in the forecast.

Hey don' worry, PG&E's solution is for all to have wood burning stoves!
