Sheriff’s employees union headed to mediation

Feather Publishing
11/14/2012

Labor negotiations between Plumas County and the Sheriff’s Department Employees Association are at impasse.

Following Tuesday’s closed session, the Board of Supervisors reported the county and the employees association have agreed to mediation.

According to the supervisors, the state will provide a mediator at no cost to the county.

The sheriff said last month that his department could face staffing cuts unless there were concessions by the union.

This story will be updated as information becomes available.

Why doesn't the sheriff gut some of his 100k+ a year admin staff. This sheriff has lost all sense of reality, putting all of the burdon on the staff that actually works. Another fine example if the sheriff letting down the citizens of this county!

Closed minds! Evict Hagwood and replace him. Plumas is corrupt to the core, so finding a man worthy of Plumas County Sheriff has NOT been achieved in my long lifetime. They've all been scum.

Keddie Murder coverup, child-molesting sheriffs, wonderful record for hiding our heads in the sand about the scum voted into office.

I am surprised by the lack of support for our dedicated and hard-working Sheriff. We are ALL lucky to have Hagwood and his staff protecting us.

Just get rid of "em all. There's enough armed citizens with the Plumas County Vigilantes to take care of the bad guys, unless there's a prison break in Susanville!

In some circles it is considered fact that the PCSD played a role in and then subsequently covered up the Keddie Murders.

I have heard of this speculation for a long time, but don't know what evidence those 'circles' are working with, if any.

Good grief, people! If you believe there was a coverup after the Keddie Murders, why are you just tslkimg about it--instead of trying to do something? And surely you can't be blaming the current sheriff for that! HOW old was he then???

For all you need to know about the alleged PCSD cover-up of the Keddie Murders you can go to the Cabin 28 website and read the forums.

My take: something isn't square with all the things that have happened in this case. In particular the evidence handling by the SO is very curious.

I wonder if Hagwood regrets aligning himself with the local Tea Party folk around here? The recent voting on proposed county tax increases is starting too have consequences. That didn't take long.

The current sheriff was in high school then. And if? there was a coverup, I don't know why people blame him for not doing anything if the case was that messed up back then.

People can do something about the coverup if they have good solid facts & proof of it, not just accusations.
