Golf results for the week of 9/26/2012

Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club

On Tuesday, Sept. 18, the Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club completed its “Ace of Aces” Finals Tournament with a field consisting of the monthly qualifiers. Laurie McKenzie was the “Low Gross Winner” and Diane Romig won “Low Net.” In other WHRLGC news, Cassie McNamara had an amazing round this past week. She “ACED” the Par 3, 11th hole and racked up three birdies to shoot Par “71” awesome, Cassie! That may be the lowest round for any member this season! Also in the forecast, the ladies get to play Martis Camp in Tahoe next Wednesday; always a great day no matter how you play. Happy Golfing.

Mt. Huff Wednesday scramble

On Wednesday, Sept. 5, Dick Grace, Greg Stevens and Darel Joseph stood with mouths agape as Jerry “The Old Pro” Hobbs took his trusty 7 wood and dropped a one hopper in the cup on hole number 4 at the Mount Huff Golf Course. This was Jerry’s fourth hole-in-one at Mt. Huff.

Drive was the most excitement at the Wednesday Scramble since Ralph Cote became director. Jerry was overheard telling Ralph that the jar of quarters for closest to cup ain’t covering the drinks. Club members hope Jerry has many more to come.

Sept. 19: The weather is great! Feeling a bit like Indian Summer in our valley. The brisk morning air and the bright sunshine brought out five teams of golfers for the Wednesday Morning Scramble at Mt. Huff.

In first place was the smokin’ team of Ron Christensen, Ralph Cote, and Don Sheffield.

Nipping at their heels was the team of John Hackett, Gary Metzdorf and Greg Stevens.

Closest to the pin was won by Gary Metzdorf and there was a tie for the chip-in contest between Ralph Cote and Ted Trafton.

Please note that due to the shortened fall days, tee-off time for the Wednesday Morning Scramble has been moved to 9:30 a.m.
