The public is encouraged to attend a meeting sponsored by the Plumas Audubon Society at the Chester Memorial Hall, at the corner of Gay and Stone beginning at 6 p.m., Thursday Aug. 5.
Plumas Arts was established in 1981, as a tax-exempt, private public benefit corporation that serves as the local arts planning and primary programming agency for our county.
Since its inception, the Plumas County Board of Supervisors has been authorized Plumas Arts to serve as the county representative to the California Arts Council's State-Local Partnership Program where, through an annual grant application process, they have ranked consistently as one of California's model local arts agencies.
Constantia Fire: The fire is now 100 percent contained. Most suppression resources have been released. The few remaining crews will continue to patrol and rehab fire lines. Some smoke may still be visible from the interior of the burned area. This will be the last update unless significant new fire activity occurs.
Constantia Fire: The 1,369 acre Constantia Complex is 73 percent contained. Firefighters continue making progress at mopping-up 500 feet inside the fire perimeter. Dozer and hand lines are being repaired while damage to some dirt roads from fire traffic is also being repaired.

In Plumas and Lassen counties, people in need are benefiting from members of fraternal groups and other organizations who are joining together in efforts to pay it forward.
Two such groups are the Elks Lodge 2626 of Lake Almanor and Mountain Circle Family Services of Lassen and Plumas counties, as well as a newer location in the Reno area.
