Wold Amusements returns to the Plumas-Sierra County Fair this year with an array of thrill and kiddie rides Aug. 10 – 14.
The carnival opens daily at noon, except Wednesday, when it opens at 4 p.m.
Wold Amusements and the fair have declared Wednesday “Buddy Day.” Riders may purchase two unlimited ride bracelets for $20.
An investigation into the July 2 shooting death of Susanville resident Rory McGuire, 20, has yet to find evidence that he or the five other men in his car were armed.
Gregory Chad Wallin-Reed, 36, of Reno, Nev., faces eight felony counts, including murder, after he admitted opening fire on the Susanville men during a car chase.
The Reno, Nev., man charged in the death of 20-year-old Susanville man Rory C. McGuire was arraigned in Plumas County Superior Court on Tuesday.
Judge Ira Kaufman set a preliminary trial date for July 18 at 10 a.m. for Gregory Wallin-Reed, 36.
Reed is charged with killing McGuire following a car chase late Saturday night on the Janesville grade near Antelope Lake.
Wallin-Reed is accused of shooting at a car containing McGuire and five other men.
The Plumas County Visitors Bureau will stay in business for at least another three months.
But the county’s budget problems actually took a turn for the worse last week.
Plumas Corporation — the nonprofit organization that oversees the visitors bureau — dipped into its savings account to fund the bureau through September.
