PG&E cautions snowmobilers about debris beneath snow

Snowmobilers are cautioned to avoid riding near power lines, even in areas where power has been restored, due to debris that may be just below the snow surface, Pacific Gas and Electric Company advised.

While PG&E crews did their best to clear away broken wires, crossarms and other items as they repaired damages brought on by recent storms, heavy snowfalls mean some debris may not be exposed until snows are melting. For this reason, snowmobilers should try to avoid riding in power line right-of-ways.
