The Biggest Little Show in the West, the 17th annual Chester Rodeo, will be held Saturday. Admission to the 3,000 covered seats is only $1.00 including tax. Bronc and bull riding, wild cow milking, clowning and other features. will be presented. Dancing Saturday and Sunday nights.
50 YEARS AGO........1962
The California State Department of Water Resources has called for bids for the construction of Antelope Valley dam and reservoir, the second unit in the upper Feather River facilities of the water project. Frenchman dam, the first project, was completed in October 1961. The Antelope Valley dam is expected to be completed by early 1964.
Plans for two new subdivisions were approved by the Plumas County Board of Supervisors this week: Warner Valley subdivision near Warner Creek in Chester and La Porte Pines Country Club in La Porte.
25 YEARS AGO........1987
Tickets are now on sale for the upcoming Plumas County Fair grandstand show. Lacy J. Dalton will be the headliner Friday night and the Logger Championship Show will be held Saturday night. Meet Me at the Fair is the theme of the 1987 Plumas County fair and fair parade.
10 YEARS AGO...........2002
Plumas County Transit Services will be providing transportation services to Reno and Chico as it adds a new passenger bus to its fleet.
Trees were uprooted, structures were demolished and debris was strewn in a freakish microburst in East Quincy Thursday.
