All Plumas Schools on one hour delayed schedule Friday

12/11/09
6:00 a.m.

Feather Publishing just received word from the bus barn at the Plumas Unified School District that all schools including Quincy, Greenville, Chester and Portola will run on a one hour delay this morning.

Buses will be chained up and running at the maximum of 35 MPH allowed on the highways under chain restrictions. Snowfall is continuing at this hour and is forecast to continue the rest of the day and into the weekend.

To view the revised bus schedules in place for today, look at the lower portion of the page found at: http://www.pcoe.k12.ca.us/Bus/default.htm and click on the bus route you require under Snow day delay schedules.

Current chain controls for Plumas County can be viewed here. As of 6:25 a.m. most areas of the county were under R1 restrictions: Chains are required on all commercial vehicles (trucks or buses). All other vehicles (cars, pick-ups, vans, etc.) must have either snow tread tires or chains on the drive axle.
