District Attorney Jeff Cunan filed a defamation claim Nov. 24 with Plumas County against County Administrative Officer Jack Ingstad for comments he made to Feather Publishing about the county’s recent lawsuit against Cunan. Plumas County Veterans Service Officer Sheryl Austin began preparing to leave her office about 40 days after her contract was terminated by action of the Board of Supervisors in September.
After that many days with no communication from the county about reclassifying her position, she said wasn't interested in remaining in the county employ.

The concrete arch bridge over Spanish Creek carrying state highways 70/89 about 8 miles from Quincy is being built by famed CC Meyers Construction, who rebuilt the freeways in LA in record time after the last quake and who is involved in the relocation of traffic on Yerba Buena with the laterally sliding freeway section for the new eastern span of the Bay Bridge, and a number of other emergency-driven repair projects.
