Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club
The Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club started the 2012 season officially Tuesday, May 1.
The format was two best net balls per team. Team 1: Virginia Luhring, Della Miller, Diane Romig and Lynn Smith; Team 2: Ruth Marchetti (withdrew after nine so we had a phantom player), Laurie McKenzie, Cassie McNamara and Marcia Zeigler.
Team 1 beat Team 2 by a shot (with Team 2 protesting, of course!).
The highlights of the day: McNamara had three birdies — wow, we are impressed! Romig and Zeigler each had one birdie. Congrats, ladies!
This week we again had a small turnout May 8, as many of our ladies haven’t arrived back from their “winter digs.” The game was individual putting with Smith the winner with 31 putts. Zeigler was a close second with 32 putts, and Luhring came in third with 35 putts. Luhring and Romig each chalked up a birdie. The course is looking better by the day and we are all enjoying the spectacular weather — the golf is second to having fun!
