The Feather River College men’s rodeo team once again captured first place overall in the West Coast Region this season, winning by a large margin over the other six schools.
Feather River finished with 6,032 total points in the men’s division. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and University of Nevada Las Vegas finished a distant second and third with 4,123 points and 4,106 points, respectively.
The FRC women’s team secured third place out of the seven schools in the region.
In the men’s all-around competition, Feather River claimed five of the top 10 spots. Jade Corkhill and Grant Denny claimed fourth and fifth overall in the West Coast Region, while teammates Jeremy Pinheiro, Joshua Garner and Brandon Mackenzie took eighth through 10th.
In the women’s regional all-around, Jordon Norcutt recorded fifth place overall.
At the national level, the Feather River College men’s team placed ninth overall, and the FRC women’s team placed 19th.
Corkhill placed 23rd in the country for Feather River in the men’s all-around standings.
The College National Rodeo Finals will be held June 10 – 16 in Casper, Wyo.
