Feather Publishing spoke to the Redding Police Department by telephone late Saturday afternoon and asked them to confirm a rumor that someone from their office had spoken to Helen "Missie" Dillon on the telephone.

A return phone call to Feather Publishing from Sergeant Langley at the Redding PD confirmed that someone had called their office on Friday and gave them a contact number for Missie. Upon calling that number, the female they spoke to claimed she was Helen Dillon. They asked the person on the phone to come in person to any local Redding police station, but as of Saturday afternoon she has not been seen.
