Women’s Golf Club
On Thursday, May 10, the members of the Graeagle Meadows Women’s Golf Club played a partner game of Odds and Evens.One member of the team counted her scores on all of the odd numbered holes and the other counted scores on the even numbered holes to determine the team score.In the Red Flight the winning team was Cheryl Brennan and Maureen Ford.Taking second place were Alaine Flynn and Ellen Fearing.Dee Walker and Lynne Hogan took third place.In the Combo Flight Sue Taylor and Dink Rife took first place.
Jennifer Baker, Ellen Fearing and Dee Walker had chip-ins.
LACC Women’s Golf
On May 15 the LACC women 18-holers played a game of Net and Putts; here are the results:
First flight: first place, Barbara Leonard; second place, Trudi Leete; third place, Kathy Chuchel, Darlene Donaldson and Kathy Roseler.
Second flight: first place, Jean Rolls; second place, Peggy Lentz; third place, Nancy Foote; fourth place, Karen Smidt and Linda Yap.
Trudi Leete won in puttsand chip-ins.
Plumas Pines Women’s
May 15 was the opening day for the PPWGC season. To start the day, a great breakfast was held at Longboards with more than 30 members and guests in attendance. After breakfast, Captain Cathy Cianciolo held a short meeting. Jan Pierce was presented with a certificate and pin from Pacific Women’s Golf Association for the hole-in-one she had in Arizona last winter.
Golf for the day was Partners Odd & Even. What a fun time. Winners were:
First flight — Tied for first place with a net 73: Renee Walker and Mary Stonebraker, and Scooter Kidwell and Jackie Luckey.
Second flight — Tied for first place with a net 76: Cathy Cianciolo and Mary Blaylock, and Joni Gerbasi and Connie Raheb.
Renee Walker and Jennifer Zumbro had a chip-in.
Another highlight of the day was for member Renee Walker who had a hole-in-nne on No. 15. This was her first and very exciting for her and a good way to start the season. Go Renee!
Whitehawk Ranch Ladies
On Tuesday, May 15, the Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club held its first Ace of Aces qualifying round. The ladies competed for low gross and low net, with the winners qualifying for the annual Ace of Aces tournament at the end of the season.
Sharon Russell shot a fabulous round of 74 to capture the low gross spot. Laurie McKenzie and Arline Simpson each shot net 65 to tie for low net.
After the game, all the participants enjoyed a wonderful Cobb salad prepared by Shirley and her able staff. It was, once again, a perfect spring day at Whitehawk Ranch!
Mt. Huff Golf
Breezy, warm — a perfect day for golf at the Wednesday morning scramble at Mt. Huff Golf Course on May 16.
First place team members were John Hackett, Jim Bryant and Greg Stevens.
In second place came the team of Jack Thatcher, Barbara Quam and Jerry Quam.
In third place were Darel Joseph, Dick Grace and Ralph Cote.
Closest to the pin waswon by Jerry Quam while Margie Josephtook the honors for the chip-in contest.
