The Quincy High School volleyball team, the only Plumas County high school team that made it to the second round of the playoffs, lost its Nov. 19 match to the No. 2 seed, Durham, in three games. Quincy fought hard, but lost 25-18, 25-18 and 25-14.
“The last few weeks, I thought we’ve really been playing well and I thought we were peaking at the right time,” commented Quincy’s coach, Chad Hyink. “We came out well to start the match. I thought the kids were focused and ready to play.”
Quincy came out with high energy and took a small lead toward the start of the first game. Durham came back and the score was back and forth for the majority of the set. Toward the end, Durham pulled away for the win.
