The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the deputy who fatally shot an armed man at the Evergreen Trailer and RV Park near Quincy on June 19.

Deputy Tom Froggatt fired the shots that killed Dennis Jason William Majewski, according to the Plumas County sheriff and district attorney.

Froggatt, a seven-year veteran of the sheriff’s department, was placed on administrative leave following the shooting.

The leave is standard procedure for officers involved in a shooting, according to the department. Froggatt was cleared to return to field duty July 1.

According to District Attorney David Hollister, the investigation into the events surrounding the shooting, and subsequent fire that destroyed Majewski’s trailer, is ongoing.

Hollister said the investigation’s findings are expected to be released at the end of the month.

And now I'm sure the blame will surely continue... I can only imagine what this deputy is going through after this incident, and I hope that people respect him and his family...
