WINEMAKER DINNER FRIDAY
If you haven't made reservations to attend the winemakers dinner this Friday, Aug. 29, at Longboards Bar & Grill at Plumas Pines Resort in Graeagle, we've been told there's still time. Lance Campbell, the founder and winemaker of Mount Aukum Winery in El Dorado County will be on hand with co-owner Michel Prod'hon to showcase their handcrafted wines. Executive Chef Sean Conry will serve a five-course gourmet meal created to complement the wines served that evening. If you can't make it this Friday, Sept. 5, they have another evening scheduled featuring Galante Wines from Carmel Valley.

NAMED SALES MANAGER
A commitment to product knowledge, unrelenting dedication and exemplary customer service earned Kelly Quinn a promotion to sales manager for Bennie Brown's Quincy Auto Center. A Plumas County resident since 1973, Kelly has 10 years' automotive industry experience and says he is looking forward to ensuring local residents that buying a new Ford or quality used car or truck will be rewarding and pleasant experience. Kelly is married and has three children.

NEW STAFF MEMBER, NEW PRODUCTS
Mary De La Rosa has joined Heather Long and her staff at Northwoods Art Gallery in Chester. Heather says Mary has extensive training in fine art conservation and framing and using their computerized mat cutter. In her role as Gallery director, Mary has responsibilities for all aspects of the operation, including artist selection and relations and has already begun to put her own personal "stamp" on offerings at the Gallery. She and her husband Nick have two children, Lilly and Nick. Heather has also added the Morning Star Log Furniture line to the store. Mike and Cathy Simmons locally handcraft this exceptional quality log, cedar and pine furniture.

NEW VETERINARIAN JOINS STAFF
Dr. Suzanne Elkjer has joined the staff at Indian Valley Veterinary Clinic in Crescent Mills. Dr. Elkjer spent her summers assisting Dr. Doyle Rolston at his clinic while attending Feather River College. She went on to earn her degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine at U.C. Davis.

OPTOMETRIST JOINS QUINCY FIRM
Jonathan Friden, OD, welcomes Josh Baer, OD to his Quincy practice. It was just a year ago that Dr. Friden moved to Quincy and bought the eye care business from Drs. Gilman and Gilman. Dr. Baer graduated from Brigham Young University and Southern Calif. College of Optometry, where he first met Dr. Friden. Dr. Baer has a practice in Grass Valley and Folsom and will begin seeing patients in Quincy on a part-time basis.
