Former prison guard sentenced

Todd Warren Posch, formerly of Greenville, was sentenced to three years formal probation, which includes 180 days in jail time set to begin March 1 in the Lassen County Jail.

Posch, a former correctional sergeant at High Desert State Prison, pleaded no contest to a felony charge of perjury — that he allegedly under oath declared as true, what he knew to be false, that he was the victim of a work related assault by suspected gang members.

He was sentenced Jan. 31.
