  • On trial: The trial for a Quincy man accused of inflicting fatal injuries on a toddler in 2013 is scheduled to begin March 12.
  • Moving on: Just days after Plumas District Hospital announced that it couldn’t take over Quincy Nursing & Rehabilitation, several residents of the facility have found new homes.

M3.8 aftershock felt in Plumas County Sunday morning

The US Geological Survey has lowered the intensity of the earthquake to M3.8.

Original post 6:30 a.m. - A M4.1 earthquake was felt at 6:25 a.m. Sunday morning in Plumas, Lassen and Sierra counties. The epicenter was in a similar location as the quake last Wednesday, this time it was nine miles SSE from Whitehawk, CA (39.604°N, 120.473°W), with a depth of 8.7 miles. This again puts the epicenter in Sierra County.

The Did You Feel It? shakemap shows a much smaller area of Northern California having felt the quake with responses as far as the Sacramento Valley.
