Patriotic parade entries sought
Entries are sought for the Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony in Greenville Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.
Walking groups, floats, vehicles — all are welcome and entry is free.
The parade is sponsored annually by the American Legion Post 568 and the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The parade staging area is at the corner of Main and Mill streets for walking groups, and the corner of Main and Wolf Creek Road for vehicles, floats and others.
Early entry is preferred, but even those who arrive and want to participate that morning are most welcome.
The check-in table will be in front of the Greenville Masonic Hall where the walking groups will line up.
Parade participants will begin moving along the route at 11 a.m., along Main Street and across Highway 89.
The parade will be halted for the ceremony, which will begin as soon as vehicles are parked and all participants gather in front of Hunter Ace Hardware, where there will be a short ceremony with the presentation of colors, the national anthem, performance by the community choir and taps.
For entry forms or more information, call the chamber at 284-6633.
