Fair carnival tickets now on sale

Wold Amusements returns to the Plumas-Sierra County Fair this year with an array of thrill and kiddie rides Aug. 10 – 14.

The carnival opens daily at noon, except Wednesday, when it opens at 4 p.m.

Wold Amusements and the fair have declared Wednesday “Buddy Day.” Riders may purchase two unlimited ride bracelets for $20.

For an even better value, exchange one pre-sale carnival book Wednesday for two unlimited ride bracelets.

Pre-sale carnival booklets, a $25 value, are $15 through Aug. 8, at Safeway, Plumas Bank branches, Evergreen Market and Loyalton Pharmacy.

Tickets are good for individual rides or exchange the whole book for unlimited ride bracelets on certain days:

Wednesday, 4 – 10 p.m.: Booklet good for two unlimited ride bracelets.

Thursday, noon – 10 p.m.: Booklet good for one unlimited ride bracelet.

Friday, noon – midnight: Exchange booklet for one unlimited ride bracelet, noon – 6 p.m. only. Tickets required 6 p.m. – midnight. Best value: presale booklet tickets.

Saturday, noon – midnight     No unlimited ride bracelets available. Tickets required all day. Best value: presale booklet tickets.

Sunday, noon – 10 p.m. Booklet good for one unlimited ride bracelet.

 

Free concert

Darrell Mansfield, a blues and gospel singer and harmonica player, headlines a free concert in the grandstands Friday night, Aug. 12, sponsored by Calvary Chapel.

The opening act is a band out of Klamath Falls, The Narrow Gate. Also on the bill will be Fivacious, a grassroots a cappella group.
