Red Cross offers evacuation shelter class

Feather Publishing
11/4/2010

Winter is just around the corner.  We are expected to have an extra heavy winter this year which translates into snow, possible mudslides and evacuations in Plumas County.
When evacuations are called for the Red Cross responds by opening an Evacuation Shelter which provides a safe place for evacuees until they can return safely to their home.  The local Red Cross is providing a special Shelter Operations Class – Initial Steps in Opening an Emergency Shelter – in Quincy at the Feather River Publishing Conference Room on Tuesday, November 9 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM.  This will be a hands on operation to which the public is invited.  To register for the class call 1-800-934-5344 or emailemergencymanager@arcnec.org.  There is no cost for the class.”
