Bar’s new owners
Karen Powell and Stephen Lodrig are the new owners of Main Street Sports Bar and Lounge in Quincy. The two moved here from Long Beach because they wanted to get away from the city life to enjoy a quiet atmosphere and become part of a smaller community. Their hobbies include fostering rescued animals, hiking, camping and prospecting for gold. Karen owned a mini storage business and has worked as a cocktail waitress and bartender; Stephen was an accountant for “Last Man Standing” at Fox Television. barbecued fare every saturday
The Knook is starting a regular Saturday night barbecue beginning June 29. This is not new to owner/chef Krissy Bauer; some might remember her scrumptious barbecues when she operated a sandwich shop in East Quincy several years ago. Now, armed with a new grill and smoker, Krissy will feature different specials — ribs, chicken, brisket, tri tips, pork — every Saturday. She is also adding new sandwich specials to her ever-expanding menu. The Knook is in Grover’s Alley in downtown Quincy.
