Identity theft seminar tonight
Tonight, Wednesday, March 24, the Chester branch of Plumas Bank is hosting a free identity theft seminar from 5:30-7 p.m. Amber Miller, the bank’s operations risk specialist, will be joined by Detective Bill Elliott of the Sheriff’s office to discuss how you monitor and resolve identity theft occurrences.

Longtime Quincy resident and business owner John Breaux, EA just passed an extensive 8-hour 3-part exam to earn certification as an enrolled agent. John recently became affiliated with Ken Barnard and Associates about the same time they purchased John DeSelle’s accounting practice. As an enrolled agent, John now has the IRS designation of a tax expert with all the IRS’s privileges. As a member of the California Association of Enrolled Agents, John says he will have to complete 30 hours of continuing education courses every year.
Gary Cerpovicz was caught completely off guard Tuesday morning when he went in to begin the food prep at his Quincy restaurant, Sweet Lorraine’s. He quickly discovered, much to his dismay, he lost a refrigeration unit and all of its contents, forcing him to close while he waits for a replacement. Gary said he hopes to be back in business sometime this week. Meanwhile, he apologizes for the inconvenience to his customers and to Bea and his staff, whom, he said, have been “just great and very understanding” through this whole unfortunate and untimely ordeal.
