New fire start on the Hough Complex

The Air Attack Supervisor on the Hough Complex has just requested two airtankers for a new start on the Hough Complex.
 
It is not unusual for lightning fires to smolder undetected for days before the right weather conditions bring them to life and they begin to burn more actively.
 

Hough Complex Morning Update

The following update was released by the Plumas National Forest at 9:00 August 21.

Cause: Lightning                                                                    Engines: 29

Date Started: August 18, 2013                                              Helicopters: 1

Containment: 40%                                                               Air Tankers: 0          

Expected Containment: Aug. 24, 2013                                Total Resources Assigned: 268

 

Current Fire Situation: The Ridge grew in size to 275 and is still at 0% containment. The Heights Fire is at 162 acres and is 30% contained. The Johnson, remains at 140 acres with 95% containment. The Hunt stayed at 11 acres and is still at 50% containment. The Keddie, at 18 acres, the Mountain and the Ruby at 1 acre each are 100% contained. The 32 and Cook, both under an acre are also 100% contained. A new fire, the Evans at 2 acres, materialized yesterday and was contained.

Public Meeting schedule in Taylorsville

Central Coast Interagency Incident Management Team 7 officials have scheduled a public meeting for Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm at the Grange Hall in the town of Taylorsville, CA. This meeting is intended to provide information, address concerns and answer questions regarding the Hough Complex.
