Opportunity to Comment on the Black Mountain Cellular Tower Project
The Forest Service, Plumas National Forest, Beckwourth Ranger District, in partnership with US Cellular proposes to build and maintain a wireless Communications site on Forest Service land near other communication towers on Black Mountain. Planned development includes constructing a new 150-ft tall self-support tower, concrete shelter, and backup power. The Black Mountain Relo facility will be located in T26N R15E in section 8. A draft decision memo detailing the proposal is available for review at Beckwourth District Office. This comment period is intended to provide those interested in or affected by this proposal an opportunity to make their concerns known prior to a decision being made by the Responsible Official. Those who provide timely and substantive comments will be eligible to appeal the decision pursuant to 36 CFR part 215 regulations.

The watercourses that may be affected are Poplar Creek, Squirrel Creek, Chris Creek, Jamison Creek, Smith Creek, and three unnamed tributaries to the Middle Fork of the Feather River near Cub Valley and Mohawk. This notice is to request information regarding domestic water supplies located 1000 feet downstream of the project area.
