75 YEARS AGO.............1937
Greenville's new community hall will be dedicated Saturday night with a dance. The last of the flooring of the 50 X 75 foot auditorium was laid last Sunday and was sanded and totally finished this week. The hall was bult as a federal WPA project (Works Progress Administration) and was sponsored by the Plumas County Board of Supervisors. In addition to the hall, the building houses the fire department, the justice court and a kitchen with living quarters for firemen on the second floor.
One hundred delegates are expected at the annual district conference of the 13th district of the PTA at Quincy Saturday representing Plumas, Sierra, Butte and Tehama Counties.
50 YEARS AGO.............1962
A total of 6042 persons are registered to vote in Plumas County for the primary election in June including 4044 Democrats, 1795 Republicans and 203 declining to state their party affiliation.
25 YEARS AGO.............1987
Bids were opened this week for the fourth floor remodel at the Plumas County courthouse for the District Attorney-Family Support division office.
Each Chester Elementary School student released a balloon with a message inside last week. So far three students have heard back from people near Grass Valley and Auburn who found the rudderless blimps blown by the wind.

Cheryl Stoy, Indian Valley resident, has retired from the Plumas County Sheriff's Department office after 25 years in various positions within that department.
