Anderson’s Garden Center in downtown Blairsden opened April 1 for its 18th season. Mike and Heather have a complete garden center including flowers and offer landscaping consulting.

Graeagle Millworks also opened April 1 for the season. Owners Tim and Cathy Kurdupski have become well known for their coffees, teas, soups and sandwiches.

Amanda Hosman is pleased to announce the relocation of her beautiful new salon, Amanda’s Hair & Nails, to 328 Main St. in Chester. Amanda prides herself on offering a truly upscale, positive salon experience that will have you looking and feeling your best. “Your appearance is my highest priority,” she said. It’s open Wednesday through Saturday with special appointments available.

 

Right next to Amanda’s is the newly located Gosney’s Barber Shop. Owner Gina Gosney provides traditional haircuts for men, women and children. Her shop offers a comfortable atmosphere supplemented with warm, friendly service.

 

EJ’s Quality Door has moved to a new location in Chester, 604 Main St., Suite B, next to Almanor Flooring. Eric Joa offers interior and exterior door installation sales, service and repairs since 2007. That includes the necessary hardware, keys and locks. Eric also installs and repairs automatic garage doors.

 

Jason and Elizabeth Smith, owners of Peterson Glass — ­The Imagination Company are open for business at their new location at 419 Peninsula Drive, Lake Almanor. They are a full service glass company for new and repairs on residential, commercial and auto glass. New services include home window cleaning and vehicle headlight restoration that takes off the yellow tinge on the outside of the headlights.

David Price Jeweler in Chester is celebrating its 32nd anniversary. Owners David and Florence Price tell us they have enjoyed the jewelry business and “you have to change with the times but diamonds are timeless,” said David. They have added “rhythm” clocks, pewter and lots of gift items for that special gift-giving occasion. They also take items on consignment and David said he will offer you cash for any unwanted gold jewelry

 

Ken Anthony is celebrating his fifth anniversary this month with the Twenty Garage in Chester. Besides being a full service automotive repair center for foreign and domestic cars and light trucks using state-of-the-art computer diagnostics and ASE certified technicians, Ken also does smog checks and certifications.

Linda Rutherford is beginning her sixth year at Dr. Gregory Sawyer’s East Quincy office as a registered and certified dental assistant. Linda began her career in dentistry 30 years ago and said she continues to enjoy her chosen profession and working with patients.

 

Dan and Carla Day, owners of High Sierra Landscapes in Quincy, are celebrating their ninth anniversary. They offer design and installation of unique mountain landscapes. They also have special expertise working with ponds, streams and other water features in designing that perfect landscape.

Ron Horton, owner of Les Schwab Tires in Quincy, now carries the impressively effective CAM2 Motor Oil. This superior performance oil was carefully formulated in a collaborative effort involving Sun Oil Company (Sunoco), General Motors and Roger Penske that ultimately helped the Penske Racing Team win the 1995 Indy 500. Since then they have made it available to the public.

Nancy Elaine Presser of Sacred Space Energetic Healing Arts in Greenville just completed several units of continuing education studies. She is now trained in facelift massages, which she said could take years off your face. The technique uses acupressure and myofacial release to soothe away lines and wrinkles while keeping the effects of Botox and other fillers lasting longer. Nancy now handles authorization and billing should you have an accident that is covered by insurance.

In Chester, the Lake Almanor Fitness Center’s Zumba instructor, Jennelle Verderber, has received her certification as a Personal Fitness Trainer through Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She said she is accepting clients for one-on-one personal training. Manager Garn Pringle said that Jennelle also does the member orientations for the fitness center, making sure new and existing members learn to correctly use the upgraded equipment that the center has just added.

 

Graeagle Vacation Rentals and Plumas Pines Vacation Rentals, located at the entrance to Plumas Pines – Plumas Eureka Estates, proudly notes that the family-owned business has been serving property owners and vacationers to the Graeagle area since the 1970s. Steve Harding and company are excited to now be carrying assorted breads from the Truckee Sourdough Company at the Graeagle Store. Established in 1996, Truckee Sourdough is an artisan bakery that supplies freshly baked crusty sourdough, ciabatta, focaccia and other breads, rolls and baguettes to markets and restaurants in the Reno, Carson City, Lake Tahoe and Sacramento valley regions and now Graeagle!
