Normal high and low temperatures for this week April 14-April 20 (high/low)...Redding/Red Bluff 70/47, Chico 73/44, Quincy 64/32, Chester 57/28, Susanville 62/34, Grass Valley 61/39, Weaverville 67/35, Mt. Shasta 59/34, Yreka 64/34 and Alturas 60/30.

A weak Low pressure trough is passing through the north end of the state with a few high clouds.  The rest of our area will another sunny day with temperatures about like yesterday.  North winds will increase today and continue through Wednesday with gusts to 30 mph in the north valley.

We will continue to be a pattern with high pressure along and over the coast with the jetstream or storm track just to our north.  (see map below).  Wednesday will be sunny with temperatures a little warmer.  Thursday afternoon and early Friday the next front or low pressure trough goes by to our north.  This system will be slightly stronger with a chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms over the counties along the Oregon border.  The rest of the north state will see partly sunny skies with a few mid and high clouds   Temperatures will cool a few degrees.

Friday afternoon through the weekend we will be  back to mostly sunny with a few high clouds and temperatures  6 to 12 degrees above normal.   The valley will see another round of gusty north winds Friday and Saturday.

It looks like a stronger low pressure area will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the north state late Monday and Tuesday.
