A man whose body was discovered in a motor home April 29 in Plumas County was identified Friday as Brian Joseph Graves, 49.
According to the Yuba City Appeal-Democrat and the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office, Graves was a Marysville-area transient.
Ricky Ray Kingsley, 53, has been charged with murder in Graves’ death.
Kingsley was arrested April 29 after a Forest Service officer discovered him digging a grave just off Highway 70 at Murphy Creek near Belden.
The officer found Graves’ body after searching Kingsley’s motor home at the site.
The Appeal-Democrat reported that Graves had been shot twice and stabbed twice. All four wounds were to the head, according to the Yuba City police.
Kingsley spent a night in the Plumas County jail before being transferred April 30 to the Sutter County Jail, where he was booked without bail.
He was moved to Sutter County because police believed the homicide took place in Yuba City.
Kingsley, who has a criminal record, had been living in his motor home in the parking lot of the Yuba City Walmart.
