Motor Home Crash
David Alexander, 56, of Greenville suffered minor burns to his back when the motor home he was driving caught fire around 5 p.m. Monday, May 3. Alexander was heading northbound on Highway 89 at approximately 35 miles per hour when the engine compartment of his 1973 Jetpro Escapade caught fire. The cab filled with smoke and flames as the fire quickly spread. He pulled the vehicle over to the north roadway edge, where he jumped from the motor home, which continued to roll down a small embankment. It came to rest against a small pine tree where it became completely engulfed in flames.  Photo by Alicia Knadler
