Don't wait too long to purchase Taste Of Plumas tickets

Make sure to get a seat at the table Saturday, April 10, in the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds. The fourth annual Taste of Plumas is one of the most anticipated events of the season which has been a sold-out event and each year. Rave reviews build the returning crowd.

You really need to buy your tickets before April 2 - no foolin'.

Organizers report there are more restaurants participating this year than ever before. The admission price remains at the 2007 - 08 level; general admission is $35 and includes a souvenir wine glass and an opportunity to savor samplings from 20-plus restaurants and culinary businesses.

Plumas Arts members pay a discounted pre-sale admission of $30. People are urged to take this opportunity to become a member with a benefit ticket purchase.

Tickets are available at the Plumas Arts Gallery at 372 Main St. in Quincy. They may also be purchased with a credit card online at plumasarts.org/shop by calling Plumas Arts at 283-3402.

"We owe a great debt to all of the generous establishments and individuals who create such wonderful event," said Roxanne Valladao, director of Plumas Arts. "The beautiful part is this is very much a win-win-win situation for all who participate.

"The culinary artists win because we inspire them to present themselves and showcase some of their best work to a very interested audience. The public wins in an opportunity to be the beneficiary of such creative endeavors, meet the artists who rarely have the opportunity to leave their kitchens and compile a mental wish list of where to go out for great meals in all parts of the county.

"Plumas Arts wins by celebrating culinary artists and presenting them to them a very interested clientele while enjoying a most necessary and appreciated financial boost."

"The Taste" also hosts samplings from numerous wineries and microbrew beers from around the Northstate and beyond.

Another great part of the event is a Silent Auction with a festive selection of services and adventure, fine art and unique items.

The event is one of the primary fundraisers for Plumas Arts, the region's most active cultural programming organization. Plumas Arts brings art programs to the county schools, great events and performances to local audiences; coordinates a regional cultural events calendaring system in print and online at plumasarts.org; works collaboratively with numerous organizations and groups; hosts Words & Music and a gallery of regional artists as well as managing the Town Hall Theatre.
