Indian Valley ambulance changes to be explained

After press time, we received word that Indian Valley residents may attend a special informational meeting Tuesday, Jan. 12, to hear about the changes made in the new ambulance service contract.

Ambulance services will no longer be provided to residents at no out-of-pocket expense, which is the way they have been provided since a special ambulance tax was initiated in1995.

Air ambulance services were added to that, like a bonus, when Mountain Lifeflight took over the contract in 2005.

That will no longer be the case, and residents may attend the special information meeting after the regular meeting of the Indian Valley Ambulance Services Authority District meeting at 5:30 p.m., in the Indian Valley Civic Center, located at 430 Main Street in Greenville.

At the meeting, Lifeflight personnel will be there to answer questions, and brochures and emergency medical services membership applications will be also available.
