 100 YEARS AGO....1909

Lost from the Long Valley Mine on Rush Creek: a white flea-bitten mare, weight about 1200 pounds, scar on each rump. Had blanket and halter on when she left the mine. Finder will receive $10 reward upon her return the the Long Valley Mine in Greenville.

75 YEARS AGO….1934
Logging operations in Plumas County were closed down for four days last week on account of rains which made roadbeds too soft for trucks. In general, all logging operations are slowing down for the season.

50 YEARS AGO….1959
The Belden Bar was burglarized Monday night in the latest of a series of robberies in the Feather River Canyon. The thieves took $600 in cash and four cases of liquor.
Advertisement: A $100 reward will be paid for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons responsible for recent thefts a Keddie, more specifically the Keddie Store.

30 YEARS AGO….1979
Plumas County Planning Director John McMorrow was given the okay by the Plumas County Board of Supervisors to have his planning staff work Saturdays to catch up with parcel map approvals and other department business. He was allocated up to $1,000 to reimburse volunteers from his office.
