The crab bibs are being pulled out of storage for another mouth-watering crab feed, hosted by the Peninsula Fire District Firemen’s Association at PFD Station No. 2 on Jan. 18, 2014.
The four-course meal, which has been a Peninsula tradition for more than 25 years, will begin at 6 p.m. after the community social, which begins at 5 p.m. The dinner will include crab, salad, bread, dessert and coffee. A no-host bar will also be available.
Tickets are limited and in high demand — as of the time of this writing only about 55 tickets out of 165 were left. They can be purchased for $35 each at the Peninsula fire office, 801 Golf Club Road in Lake Almanor, or from Kelly at Rouland Insurance, 650 Main St. in Chester. According to district Chief Gary Pini, tickets sell out quickly every year. This year, 100 tickets were sold within the first two weeks.
Ticket proceeds provide support to the fire district so it can purchase and repair fire and medical equipment.
